Thanku Ford, for cancelling my booking.

Yes a big thanks.
Some background. After driving my beloved Swift for years, I saw Maruti Suzuki S Cross and fell in love on first site. Amazing stance, length, ground clearance and many other factors (already lots of review on many sites) .
But there was one problem. Due to Pune traffic, I wanted to go for an Automatic transmission, and S Cross doesn’t have that.
I checked other options and finally settled on Ford Ecosport automatic. There were lots of issues actually:
  1. The fuel efficiency for Ford Ecosport is very poor,
  2. its console is dated (even that is understatement). Its designed on old feature phones, with lots and lots of buttons. Even phones today don’t have that.
  3. It’s not having a true door lock from inside. Almost all cars when locked, from inside, need two step door open process. First you shift a small lever/switch and then use the main handle to open the doors. But ecosport, even when locked from inside, the doors open with single action, and that too a simple lever/handle pull. A huge safety concern.
  4. Its back seat is small to fit 3 people comfortably.
  5. Even with spare wheel outside, the boot space is low.

But just for automatic, I made a compromise and booked. I was told I will get the car in maximum 2 months.
Now started the pain part. I waited and waited, and after around 45 days, Ford showroom folks stopped answering my calls or emails. It was so frustrating. Finally, after 2 + months I was told they are not able to “arrange the car”.
Arrange ? Excuse me!!!    Didn’t I put an order on authorised showroom, or did I asked you to steal Kohinoor or something. But ya, thats the way it was.
Finally, booking CANCELLED after wasting my 3 months and eating bank interest on booking amount.

Went back and booked S Cross, got the delivery few days back and man, am I delighted. It’s a huge upgrade over Ford Ecosport with price being almost similar. All Alloy, all disk brakes, beautiful AVN and loads of other features.

So thanku Ford  :)
